Pure Abundance Volumizing Hair Spray by Aveda

$16.50 for 6.7 flash oz/200 ml

"Hair spray with extra-firm hold for all hair types."

Love or hate this product?

I have to admit that at first I hated this hair spray. Simple instructions: expose the hair root, spray 10-12 inches away and allow to dry. Layer as needed. On both occasions I noted that any volume obtained by spraying this stuff at the hair root disappeared within 10 minutes.

Deciding to give the spray another shot, I sprayed my freshly iron curls after they had cooled. My hair felt like there was a lot of product on it, but it didn't feel sticky after it dried. The curls held up frizz-free for the rest of the day and I was able to wake up the next day with curls that had little frizz. I brushed out my hair at the end of day 2 to find big, soft waves. The curls were refreshed with a mist of the Volumizing Hair Spray.

The Pure Abundanc line is clay based, so not great for fine hair despite what the product claims. I have medium to fine textured hair, and my hair style was still nice and full after sleeping on it. I'm willing to put up with how sticky this product is while it's wet for the end results. I'm still not in love, though.

Rating: 6/10
Suggestions: Great for smoothing fly always with a strong hold. It's not recommended that the Pure Abundance line be used on fine hair.
